Typography
This is my favorite typography that I found in India. I love the cursive typeface that was used. It is also a powerful quote representing so much to the Indian people.
I saw this stilts walker on the bus while we were in Jaipur, and HAD to use it in my blog! Advertising is EVERYWHERE here, so coming up with new ways to advertise is a must here in order to stand out from all the other billboards. So, it was no surprise for me to see a walking stilts ad on the street.
Agra fort sign description
The typography of this sign is nothing too special. But I appreciated it for 1. Being n English and 2. Being engraved in solid marble. It also has a worn look that I like.
One thing I have noticed a lot in India are the ads that are painted on walls. This painted wall I found in Ahmedabad, and its not just an ad for a product, its for getting a business degree! Oh, India.
I found it so interesting that India has the same corny talent shows as we do in America. Because the type is exactly the same at first glance I thought it was an ad for American Idol.
I loved the inside of Ogilvy and Mather in Delhi!!! There were so many funky quotes it was hard to decide which one I wanted to write about. I like the way this was presented the most because I think the quote is so true.
I saw these NHAI signs covering the side of streets in Delhi. I liked how it looks to be painted, and two lines look like calligraphy.
For some reason I really liked this sign at the Observatory in Jaipur. I think it is because the typeface looks bold and as if it was carved into the marble sign.
I really liked this old sign at a temple we visited in the Old City of Ahmedabad. Even though it is written in Gujrati, so I have no idea what it means I still find it cool because it has such an old rustic look to it.
These signs at the mall are also in a language I do not understand. I liked seeing how it similar it looks to something I would see in America (on a kiosk in a mall).
