Texture
The texture of this wall at Qutub Minar really caught my eye. The rocks look to be of all different sizes and colors. They also seem to be jutting out from all directions, as if there was no formal structure intact when they built the wall.
This picture was taken on the street near the Law Garden in the Old City of Ahmedabad. The gross muddy, mucky texture is something I felt that had to be added to my blog because I see this mucky, disgusting, nastiness so frequently in the cities of India. It's bad enough that there is garbage and filth all over, but once the monsoon hits and rain is added into the equation this is the end result.
The ground at Lothal was easily my favorite part of that super exciting place. For some reason the moist soil gave the ground a spring board feeling to it, so it felt really cool jumping around. It also had this cracked appearance, which I thought resembled arteries and blood vessels.
Before I came to India, I spent two weeks in Israel where the outdoor markets had the freshest and most delicious fruits and vegetables I had ever seen or tasted. In the Old City of Ahmedabad I finally saw fruits and vegetables being sold outside in carts or stands, but they did not look nearly as appetizing. These potatoes were the the best looking vegetables I saw all day and have been making me crave a baked potato since!
This image is the inside of the entry door at Hindu Temple located in the Old City of Ahmedabad. The texture is appealing because it is so unique and unlike anything I have seen here. It also reminds me of the walls in Indiana Jones that try and crush him.
